The Toledo "Statue of Liberty" - named in 1949 after Armand Goutorbe, who saved countless numbers of US GI's as a French Intelligence Officer is WWII, was gifted a Willy's Jeep by the same GI's who were the recipients of his heroism. Armand became affectionately known in Champagne, France as the "JEEPER" man due to his inseparable and necessary relationship with our famed vehicle, which allowed him to tend to his vines when his war injuries prevented him from walking. In homage to the history, his relationship with the vehicle and his endearing nickname, Armand renamed his vineyard Champagne Jeeper in 1949.
